THE REVIVAL OF FEE FOR SERVICE

THE REVIVAL OF FEE FOR SERVICE, FREE ENTERPRISE PRIVATE PRACTICE MEDICINE IN NEVADA COUNTY, SPURRED BY THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

 Patrick Wagner, MD

As our recall efforts continue, we discovered at our Board of Supervisors meeting of 02/22/2022, that the members of the board unanimously took off their masks as a sign of solidarity with WE THE PEOPLE of Nevada County.  What the board members are saying is…”Stop the fear, open up our oppressed doctors’ offices, our Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital (presently doing business as Dignity Healthcare), our medical professionals, our banks, our restaurants, our small businesses, and our schools.  Yes, February 22, 2022 was a refreshing day indeed!   It’s great to finally see the faces and the smiles of our Board of Supervisors!  Stop the fearmongering and start the healing!  Take off the masks!  It’s great!

We are uniformly telling our hospital to:

  • Take off your masks.
  • Stop prescribing remdesivir.
  • Stop prescribing untested and dangerous vaccines that aren’t really vaccines.
  • Start prescribing ivermectin.
  • Stop performing PCR testing on every single patient who is admitted to the hospital without providing informed consent and thus using totally inaccurate “information” to fuel the Nevada County public health officer to impose people killing lockdowns.
  • Stop scaring our seniors from needed doctor visits and diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms and colonoscopies and treatments such that their potential diseases can be kept from progressing to untreatable diseases.  Unfortunately, these patients are dying outside of desperately needed medical help for problems like stroke, heart attack and advanced colon, breast or lung cancer among others, all preventable with regularly scheduled follow-up with their doctors.
  • Leave our doctors alone and allow them to provide full informed consent to their patients, and allow them to utilize their full skills and judgement in valuing their patients to the full extent of the Hippocratic Oath they swore.  Then, stop restricting our dedicated doctors from treating their precious patients the way they need to be treated. The patient comes first, period.  Always.
  • Stop restricting our amazing Nevada County nurses from performing their oath sworn nursing skills and judgment.
  • Stop firing our amazing Nevada County nurses for believing in acquired, natural herd immunity.
  • Stop forcing our amazing Nevada County nurses from long arduous shifts, with forced mask wearing.
  • Stop cherry picking health insurance plans, which would thus allow our Nevada County seniors to be treated locally, in our Nevada Country Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, not Dignity Healthcare, as is the present case.  Do not force them to travel to facilities out of the county to get medical help.  Do not discriminate against our seniors on the basis of their ability to pay for medical and surgical services.  Give the administration of our hospital back to the people.
  • Yes, join us, WE THE PEOPLE and our Board of Supervisors, and never, never, never again allow the parameters of diagnosis and treatment of the life and death issues of our sacred Nevada County human beings and their spirits to be defined by big government and monopolistic bureaucracy.  It is now time for doctors and patients to re-establish their sacred bonds.  Let us get the job done.
